. It’s time to do something about those dreams and desires.
And to realize you don’t have to do it alone.
There are many times in our lives we find ourselves wanting something else. You may be stuck in a career that doesn’t fulfill you. As an empty nester, you have time on your hands you never had before, and you are starting to ask yourself what is next for you. As a mid lifer, you may find yourself done with the work life and that it is time to slow down and figure out what to do in later years of of your working life. And talking about retirement, what is that going to look like for you? You struggle to find out what you really want. And if you know what you want, you don’t know where to start to make it happen.
Overwhelm is a constant companion. If you are single you may feel alone not have a natural speaking partner

Looking back I realize I have always moved a lot, even in my native Sweden. By being flexible and willing to move to take a new job, I made it easier for me to find interesting jobs within my field. After a 2 year work assignment in the Netherlands, I got bit by the expat bug. I loved the prospect of getting to travel, the change of pace and the new sights I got to see. Change always was something that drove my life and excited me.
My journey took me from Scandinavia to Montreal, San Diego, Los Angeles and New York. Along the way, I learned that it takes a unique set of skills to truly thrive after a major change in your life like a move, especially if that is a move to another country. I also learned what didn’t work so well for me, which was focus too much on my work and not enough on my personal relationships. I began compiling what I had learned, and sharing it initially with other expats that I met. These skills and tools have served me time and time again, each time life brought me to a new decision point.

Over a decade later, I’m still at it.
